Senior Accountant

Sky Climber is seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant with strong general ledger, sales and use tax, and multi-entity accounting experience. This hands-on role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys owning complex reconciliations, supporting multi-state compliance, and working across multiple companies in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, adaptable, detail-oriented, and confident, taking ownership of recurring accounting processes.
Sky Climber’s operating businesses include the design, manufacture, and rental of suspended access systems, as well as the maintenance and repair of wind turbines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review daily and monthly general ledger entries, account reconciliations, financial statements, and reporting packages.
- Manage the preparation, review, and timely filing of multi-state sales and use tax returns, including related reconciliations and supporting documentation.
- Research and resolve sales and use tax questions, notices, discrepancies, as needed.
- Reconcile intercompany balances and activity across multiple companies and entities.
- Manage accounting-related transactions for nationwide real estate holdings.
- Perform routine bank reconciliations across multiple accounts and entities.
- Ensure proper general ledger coding, entity allocation, and supporting documentation.
- Investigate and resolve reconciling items, including timing differences, posting delays, and intercompany variances.
- Review and process vendor invoices, ensuring proper documentation, approvals, and coding.
- Maintain organized, audit-ready records for tax filings, reconciliations, and accounting transactions.
- Assist in providing financial information to external auditors and tax advisors.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualified candidates must possess the following:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
- Five or more years of accounting experience, preferably in a multi-company or multi-entity environment.
- Hands-on sales and use tax experience is strongly preferred, including multi-state return preparation, review, reconciliation, or audit support.
- Experience with intercompany accounting, entity allocations, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with bank reconciliations across multiple accounts or entities.
- Consistent attention to detail in transactional accounting work.
- Ability to maintain productivity and accuracy across recurring, deadline-driven workflows.
- Demonstrated ownership of assigned tasks with minimal oversight.
- Comfort working across multiple systems, companies, and entities.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
